Life and art

It has been quite some time since my last blog entry, for which I can only apologise! I’ve given myself quite a workload this year and it has been very hard to tear myself away from the books that I’ve been working on. Both are coming along well, I just wish there were more hours in the day!

Yesterday I took a break from writing after a stressful few days with the dog. He’s an angel but his epilepsy can be difficult sometimes. I’m not sure I can accurately describe how it feels to be totally helpless in the face of something so violent and traumatic. I take comfort in the fact that he is unconscious during the seizures, but it is still a very rough experience even if you are prepared. Thankfully it is easy enough to work out when a fit is on the way, but it is next to impossible to discern accurate times and so we just have to cope at the time.

Anyway, I’m rambling, but the stress did result in one positive thing. I had the opportunity to do a bit of therapeutic art. I’ve been wanting to try a new style with more fur texture for a while now, and I finally had my chance. I’m quite pleased with the result, even if the subject matter is slightly random!
